Founded by young author McKenzie Watt in 4th grade, Kenzie's Kids shares a passion for fostering literacy and empowering children to express themselves through reading and writing.  In 2019, McKenzie authored and illustrated her very own children's book in partnership with WETA/PBS's Young Writer's Program.  This experience inspired her to make sure that every child had the opportunity to find their own voice through reading and writing.  McKenzie's story is a testament to the power of young voices making a difference.

 Each year, Kenzie's Kids distributes thousands of books to children throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., helping ensure that more young readers have access to books both at school and at home. Through community book drives, school partnerships, and collaborations with local organizations, Kenzie's Kids works to remove barriers to literacy and inspire a lifelong love of reading. By expanding access to books, we believe we can strengthen literacy skills, foster a passion for learning, and create greater educational opportunities for children across our communities.
